The proposed development is located close to existing services and transport links. The site is located within 1.2 kilometres of an Asda supermarket, Newton Leys Primary School and local parks and play areas. There are bus stops to the north of the site on Lansbury Road and St Helena Avenue, providing access to the 100 and F70 (Lansbury Road) and the 5 and 603 (St Helena Avenue) bus services respectively. Bletchley Railway Station is located approximately 3.7 kilometres north of the site and provides connections to London Euston, Birmingham New Street and Milton Keynes Central. Bletchley Bus Station is located opposite the railway station and is served by the 5 bus service every 20 minutes and by the F70 bus service every hour including during peak periods. The railway station also has space to park up to 58 bicycles.
In addition, a number of features will be built into the development to encourage long-term sustainability including areas for public open space, a children’s play area, new footpaths and pedestrian crossings on Drayton Road to enhance access to local services and facilities and on-site attenuation features to manage water flow on site.
